Updates on SHARE-funded in Malawi via Rochelle’s new Blog

Dr Rochelle Holm PhD PMP works at the Centre of Excellence in Water and Sanitation in Mzuzu University, Malawi. She is the Principal Investigator for an exciting new SHARE-funded research project into Private Sector Participation in the Delivery of Sanitation and Hygiene Services.

In 2009, the Mzuzu University Centre of Excellence in Water and Sanitation was established within the Faculty of Environmental Sciences. The primary objective of the Centre is to improve the effectiveness of sanitation, hygiene practices, and water supply interventions serving Malawi and the surrounding countries. The Centre participates in applied research, water quality analysis, training, consultancies, outreach programs, and the practical application of research findings.

Mzuzu University is implementing a SHARE grant research project on Private Sector Participation in the Delivery of Sanitation and Hygiene Services for the Government of the Republic of Malawi’s Ministry of Water Development and Irrigation.The project is working in the Nkhata Bay District.
